Rescuers save baby trapped in collapsed building after Colombia quake

CALI, Colombia (CNN) – Rescuers in Colombia pulled a baby from the rubble of an apartment building following Monday’s earthquake.

The magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck western Colombia, killing more than 200 people, according to reports from officials.

One of the rescuers said he was a block and a half away when he heard the building collapse. He ran to the site and called out for survivors.

That’s when the rescuer heard a man say he was under the rubble with a baby.

Several people helped sift through the debris.

Once the baby was located, the child was handed off to first responders.
