Our week five game of the week started out as a storybook, featuring the undefeated Palo Duro Dons (4-0) for the first time since 2001 pitted up against the 5A-D1 No. 9 ranked Tascosa Rebels on homecoming night. The Rebels won big 47-6, playing a complete game all four quarters.
Week four of Texas high school football in the Texas Panhandle did not disappoint. Amarillo High proved doubters wrong by defeating the formerly undefeated 6A Frenship Tigers 31-14, Spearman won over Game of the Week on the road in Vega 24-6, Pampa upset Randall 29-28 and Tascosa ran over San Angelo Central 46-28.
The Tascosa Rebels and Caprock Longhorns have made adjustments this season, both starting to progress and move in the right direction. Tascosa is adding a few more passing plays to their offensive scheme, and Caprock overcome the loss of a quarterback and is balancing a two QB system.
The Amarillo Sandies and Palo Duro Dons are celebrating homecoming at Dick Bivins Stadium for week four of high school football. The Dons kickoff on Thursday against Borger and the Sandies take the field Friday versus Frenship.
Week four of high school football is about to kickoff, and our Game of the Week features the Spearman Lynx (2-1) on the road against the undefeated Vega Longhorns (3-0). Both teams are fired up for the non-district battle.
The Canyon Eagles have a tough test this Friday night at Happy State Bank Stadium. The Eagles are set to host the Caprock Longhorns who just earned their first win of the season on the road in Perryton. The Randall Raiders look to bounce back after falling to Amarillo High in the Battle of Bell Street. The Raiders get their chance on the road in Pampa.
