AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - A bail hearing is set for Wednesday, October 28 for a man facing drug trafficking charges in Potter County.

According to court documents, charges were filed October 19 against Nicholis Bryant Robinson for possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine.

Court documents say an Amarillo Police Department K-9 officer was working at the Greyhound Service Station in Amarillo that day.

While his K-9 performed an air sniff of the bus, the K-9 alerted to narcotics in a grey duffle bag in an overhead storage compartment of the bus.

The officer searched the bag, and court documents say he found seven vacuum sealed bundles in the bag.

DEA agents responded to the scene, and agents returned the bag to the overhead compartment.

The agents then told passengers to remove their luggage from the storage areas. Once everyone removed their belongings, two bags were still not claimed.

A man later identified as Robinson entered the bus and claimed the duffle bag. He was then arrested.

Documents say officers found four more bundles inside a backpack Robinson also claimed.

During an interview with officers, documents say he admitted to transporting the drugs from “point A to point B” and that he was taking the drugs to his home.

He was then booked into the Randall County Jail on a federal hold.

Documents say the drugs tested positive for methamphetamine. Street value estimates show the drugs were worth close to $1 million.
