Amarillo City Council pauses purchase of Flock cameras to create policies on use

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Amarillo City Council voted today to join the national conversation on the use of surveillance and other monitoring cameras.
They put off buying several types of cameras including ones that monitor traffic.
Councilman Les Simpson suggested the pause to create policies for use of the cameras and what kind to deploy.
APD Chief Thomas Hover volunteered to put together a presentation on the hot topic.
