Suspect identified in stabbing that left Amarillo man dead

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Amarillo Police Department has identified the suspect in a stabbing that left an Amarillo man dead.

Police say officers responded around 3:39 a.m. Friday to the apartments located at South Virginia Street and Maverick Street.

Police found a person with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

Family members have told NewsChannel 10 the man was 29-year-old Jordan Branch.

Police say Makena Shilae Romero, 22, is in custody for murder.

The homicide unit is investigating.
