Police officers save choking infant days after completing CPR training
BUENA VISTA, Colo. (Gray News) — Quick-acting police officers and first responders helped save the life of a choking infant in Colorado, authorities said.
The Buena Vista Police Department said officers responded on the night of Sept. 27 to an emergency call reporting an infant was choking and not breathing.
The incident occurred just days after department officers completed their CPR and first-aid recertification training.
Sgt. Frazer Pomfret and Officer Anitta Wroten were the first to arrive on the scene and administered lifesaving emergency aid until paramedics arrived.
“It is very important for police officers to maintain their skills and training. We take this seriously at the BVPD, and the following video highlights this reality,” the department said, sharing a video of the response on Facebook.
