Texas DPS identifies man killed in crash at US 287, FM 1912

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Texas DPS has identified the man killed in a wreck this evening on U.S. 287 near Amarillo.

Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Cindy Barkley said a red 2024 Ford F150 hit the trailer of a tractor trailer, killing the pickup driver.

The driver, Ryan Lane Simpson, died on scene from his injuries.

The tractor trailer was turning onto 287 when the pickup hit it.

Part of 287 was shut down and traffic was temporarily detoured to I-40.

Texas Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash
