PORTALES, N.M. (KFDA) - Two people are without a home as the New Mexico State Fire Marshal’s Office investigates the cause of an early morning house fire.

The Portales Fire Department says just after midnight the fire department was called to the area of Ivy and South Avenue B for a fully engulfed mobile home.

When crews arrived, they found the house fully engulfed and called the Arch Volunteer Fire Department and the Dora Volunteer Fire Department for assistance.

Officials say while fighting the fire an abandoned building near the home also caught fire and was extinguished.

Officials say two people were displaced from their home but not injuries have been reported.

The fire was brought under control at 4:00 a.m.

The New Mexico State Fire Marshal’s Office was called and are investigating the cause of the fire.
