AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - An Amarillo man will spend a decade in prison for his part in an argument with his girlfriend that turned violent.

A Potter County grand jury indicted 24-year-old Jabadrious Razhawn Williams in November 2025 on a charge of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury, a second-degree felony.

Court documents say that in June 2025, officers with Amarillo Police went to an apartment building near Northwest 19th and North Fannin Street on a 911 call.

When they got there, they learned that a couple on the upper level of the building started arguing. The argument became physical and the male began hitting the female.

He then “pushed her down a flight of stairs.” She was taken to the hospital where she was found to have two broken ankles.

Williams and the victim had learned of her pregnancy several hours before the assault.

Last week, Williams appeared before District Judge Ana Estevez and pleaded guilty.

Judge Estevez sentenced him to 10 years in prison.

Williams faced a sentence of up to 20-years at trial.
