Dimmitt business proud to be part of the community

DIMMITT, Texas (KFDA) - Seale’s Florist in Dimmitt was originally opened by Maddie Seale in 1948.
Florist Maddie Gfeller says Seale started the business after buying a duplex.
“Maddie Seale bought the building here and this is what we use as our main showroom today,” said Gfeller. “She later opened the greenhouse out back that seasonally two times a year, and then it was bought in 1984 by Carol Lust.”
They later added a backroom to the building where they currently do all their flower work now.
Gfeller says her family bought the business back in 2023.
“We’ve expanded so much we were able to open the second showroom next door,” said Gfeller. “We open that during Christmas right now, but we’re hoping to open it full time in the future.”
The flower shop has served the community for over 75 years.
“We’re proud to carry on that tradition because it just means a lot,” said Gfeller. “We’ve had the community support us for so many years so we want to be able to be there for the community when they need us, so that means so much to us.”
Gfeller says they are incredibly grateful for everyone that comes through their doors, but they’re really appreciative of the people that continue to come and support local business.
She says Dimmitt is a great community.
“We’ve got a lot of things to offer at the flower shop specifically. They’ll always be met with a smiling face and some fun music playing,” said Gfeller. “They can come check out what we’ve got in store and hopefully they find something just for them.”
Seale’s by Walking G Floral is located at 310 N. Broadway.
