Pantex identified in latest batch of declassified UFO documents
AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Department of War released a second batch of declassified documents of UFO sightings this morning--and yes, Pantex is in there.
In February, President Donald J. Trump directed the DOW to review, identify, declassify and publicly release records and documents regarding Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP).
UAPs are what most people call Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs).
With support from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), the DOW “will release new materials on a rolling basis as [documents] are discovered and declassified.”
The first tranch was released May 8.
The second one became accessible on the DOW website this morning,
Among the various documents featured on the website--some historical, some contemporary--there is a single PDF file titled: DOE-UAP-D001, ENHANCED PANTEX IMAGERY.
The redacted document titled Pantex Unidentified Object Incident Report consists of two pages with an image on each page.
One of the images is an enhanced image from ground surveillance radar tower.

No further information is provided for this single declassified document of a UFO spotted near Pantex. But future batches of declassified materials may yield more clues.
The Pantex facility is located fifteen miles northeast of Amarillo, Texas and is notorious for its secrecy and security measures alike.
It is also no stranger to UFO controversy.
In November 1957, eyewitnesses reported “three disc shaped craft with bright colorful lights” hovering near the plant.
The sighting set off a chain reaction of events and an investigation led by Bob Spearing, the creator of World UFO Watch.
The full report and the findings can be read here.
Also of note is a September 2025 UFO sighting near Pantex.
While the Pantex Unidentified Object Incident Report is heavily redacted, it states that personnel were directed to follow the UFO and get as much information about it as they could.
No aliens are readily seen in any of the files, photos, or footage released by the DOW so far.
However, with more releases promised in the future, the public can access the declassified documents here.
