Highland Park softball standout Haley Rogers signs with Clarendon College
First Lady Hornets player to advance to college level since program’s creation in 2025
AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Highland Park softball standout Haley Rogers will continue her athletic career at Clarendon College, where she will play third base.
Rogers is the first softball player from Highland Park to advance to the college level since the program began in spring 2025.
Versatile player
She played all positions during her final season with the Lady Hornets, including all nine positions in a single game against Booker.
Rogers said the milestone is unexpected and meaningful.
“It means the world to me. I’m very excited to continue on this journey,” Rogers said. “I only had two years of high school ball because it was a brand new program, but I’m very excited to get to move on and keep playing.”
Historic achievement
She said she did not anticipate being the program’s first college signee.
“I’m ecstatic. I can’t believe it’s me. I never thought it would be, but here we are,” Rogers said.
Looking ahead
Rogers said she hopes her commitment encourages future players.
“I think this will be a huge inspiration, hopefully, to get more people to not only play, but continue in their career too,” Rogers said.
She has attended Highland Park since kindergarten.
“Highland Park has been such a big part of my life,” Rogers said. “It’s just a huge family, and it’s really nice to be around people who you know.”
