Virginia fugitive wanted for 18 counts child exploitation, bestiality arrested at Amarillo motel

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Law enforcement arrested a Virginia man at an Amarillo hotel this week.
On Monday, Randall County Sheriff’s Office deployed SWAT to assist with an arrest at the Motel 6 near I-40 and South Bolton Street.
The suspect is listed as 33-year-old Bruce Edward Cason of Staunton, Virginia.
According to an arrest report, Cason was wanted on two fugitive warrants issued by Staunton Police Department.
One warrant is for 18 counts of possession of child pornography and the other is for bestiality.
**Update** On Feb. 17, Staunton Police Department shared that the case was initiated as a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
“As a result of our investigation, Mr. Cason was charged with the [ ] offenses. The warrants were uploaded for service by the U.S. Marshal’s Capital Area Fugitive Taskforce W/VA in Harrisburg, VA, as we believed Mr. Cason was no longer in the Staunton area”
On Monday, the United States Marshal Service located Cason at the Motel 6 in room 256.
Randall County SWAT arrived to assist, and an arrest was made around 2pm without incident.
Cason was booked into Potter County Detention Center where he will be held without bond until he can be transported to Virginia.
The arrest report for Cason states he is a driver for Forward Trucking.
Cason was previously a lobbyist at the General Assembly—the term for Virginia’s legislature—and a Second Amendment Rights organization.
He has been featured in Virginia news coverage for demonstrating his “American right to bear arms” in public places.
