Man who pointed rifle at woman at Amarillo convenience store pleads guilty to federal charges
AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - An Amarillo man pleaded guilty to federal gun charges last week.
A federal grand jury indicted Paris Octavias Davidson, 40, in November for an incident the month before.
In October, Amarillo police were called out to the Toot n Totum near SW 45th Avenue and S Western St on a call that a black male had pointed a rifle at a woman.
The caller reported the male was driving a silver BMW and had left the Toot n Totum headed west on SW 45th.
Deputies with Randall County Sheriff’s Office located the BMW in a nearby parking lot and called Amarillo police to assist.
The driver of the BMW was identified as Davidson and he was taken into custody.

A search of Davidson’s car turned up a .762 caliber rifle on the rear passenger floorboard.
The rifle had one round in the chamber.
Another pistol was found in the glove compartment.
As officers transported Davidson to the detention center, he admitted that he had weapons for protection. He also claimed he was allowed to have the guns despite a prior felony conviction because he was “eight years out of prison”.
Davidson has a prior felony conviction out of El Paso County.
He was initially booked into Randall County Jail on two charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Those charges are still pending in district court.
Davidson’s sentencing will be set at a later date.
