Krista Gerlich to be inducted into Texas High School Basketball Hall of Fame

LUBBOCK, Texas (KFDA) - Krista Gerlich, the former head coach of the West Texas A&M Lady Buffs, is being inducted into the Texas High School Basketball Hall of Fame as a member of the 2025 class.

Gerlich is the the current head basketball coach of the Texas Tech Lady Raiders, which also happens to be her alma mater.

Before her time at Texas Tech, Gerlich was a three-time All-State player at Spearman and Sudan high school, winning a state championship as a Lady Hornette.

She then went on to play at Texas Tech, where she helped lead the Lady Raiders to a national title in 1993.

She had 553 career assists as well as 220 career 3-point field goals, which ranks her third all time at Texas Tech in both categories.

Many of her records still exist today, and her #21 jersey sits in the same rafters she once played and now coaches under.
