Project Clean Up: Removing trash from the alleys along Amarillo Boulevard

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Project Clean Up continues its goal of sprucing up as much of Amarillo as it can, but it takes help.

That help came in the form of the teenagers who were on the previous clean up. This time, they had a better handle on what it takes to make Project Clean Up a success.

The crew found plenty to do in the area of Amarillo Boulevard between Garfield and Mirror Streets along northeast 9th and 11th.

Once again, the crew found so much junk along the president’s alleys including Garfield, Arthur and Cleveland Streets.

This was another character builder for the teens. Few kids their age are doing this kind of manual labor this summer, so hats off to them!

It took a couple of trips back to the alleys to fill the trailer and the dumpster.

This clean up, the kids were much more in tune with their job description: show some muscle and get it done!

This is far from working a Kool-Aid stand for the summer, it’s a door to their future. Put in the time, and it will pay off!

The downtown roll-off dumpster would soon be filled with the bounty of a hard morning’s work. Kudos to the crew for a job well done!

Remember, it takes all of us to keep Amarillo beautiful. Project Clean Up will continue to work to make that happen, but the city needs your help as well!
