Project Clean Up: Working the alleys along the Presidential Streets
AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Project Clean Up is at it again! This time, working in the area north of Amarillo Boulevard near Palo Duro High School.
The Fuller and Sons crew braved the rain and muck to make this clean up happen.
Neither rain nor more chilly temperatures could keep Fuller and Sons crew from their assignment.
Let’s cut to the chase. The crew had to deal with a base of a basketball goal, not filled with water or sand, but cement! The crew didn’t figure that out until they lifted it.
This was a clean up that included everything but the kitchen sink! Although, a bathroom sink was dumped.
The area between northwest 9th and 12th was willed with items destined for the roll-offs and, eventually, the city landfill. Side tables, box springs, living room chairs and one soggy mattress were among the items that were no longer of value to anyone.
So, the crew did their job of making use of the downtown roll-offs at the Public Library.
Several thousand pounds of rubbish making less of a mess in the area of Buchanan, Hayes, Johnson and Grant.
You know the saying “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure?” How about a $10 bonus find? That’ll get you a Happy Meal these days, spend it wisely!
If you know of a section of the city that needs help and a good clean sweep by the Fuller and Sons crew, click here to nominate that area.
Also, please remember that the roll-offs are for your neighbors, not for commercial use. Please respect that request.
No doubt about it, it takes all of us to keep Amarillo beautiful.
