Project Clean Up: Putting in work in northern Amarillo
AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - With a new year comes a new area for the Project Clean Up team.
We received several requests for the Fuller and Sons crew to do what it could to spruce up an area in North Amarillo.
This should make those viewers pretty happy who live north of Amarillo Boulevard between Polk and Harrison.
Neither rain, nor fog, nor cold temperatures could keep our Project Clean Up crew from their appointed rounds!
Sure, that’s a take-off from the postal worker motto... but you get the picture.
It was a lousy day for the Fuller and Sons crew, but the first sweep in the new year was a fruitful one!
The crew hit this area because it is in desperate need. Target areas were northwest 9th and Harrison, the alley on northwest 10th between north Tyler Street and Harrison Street, then more alleys between north Polk Street and north Harrison Street from 10th Avenue through 14th Avenue.
So much dumping to do on this clean up, like mattresses and box springs!
At the roll-off at Hines Memorial Park, the city was doing its part by putting the crush on debris headed for the dump.
Back to another alley, recliners that have seen their better days and probably a lot of TV watching over the years!
Around the alley dumpster, all kinds of debris the crew had to navigate through.
All in all, the mission was accomplished on the north side of the city. Another effort by the Fuller and Sons crew to make Amarillo beautiful.
A quick reminder for everyone: those roll-offs are for residential use, not commercial. So please respect those neighbors who need roll-offs to dump items that can junk up an area.
If you know a part of the city that needs attention, let us know here.
Remember, it takes all of us to keep Amarillo beautiful.
