A potent low pressure system is tracking just to our north today putting us in a powerful wind field. Winds will gust well over 50mph, possibly even higher across the central panhandle.

Arctic air has resulted in some bitterly cold weather today including lows below zero, daytime temps in the single digits, and wind chills near 30 below zero at times.
The Panhandle has been reaching triple digits, caused by a low pressure system, leaving the area in the constant struggle of high heat, and very little rainfall.
After a cold front looks to cool us down on Tuesday, temperatures will continue to drop and chances of snow will rise going into Wednesday and Thursday.
We are tracking a winter weather event that will impact the area starting late tonight in our NW counties, then spreading into much of the area before daybreak tomorrow night and will last until Wednesday afternoon.
As the High Plains continue to have critically dry fuels along with high winds and high temperatures, the area is looking at elevated wildfire conditions for the remainder of the week, with the biggest concern being tomorrow.
