Northwest 'Idol' finalist competes Wednesday night

A Southern Oregon woman is a finalist on "American Idol" and she competes Wednesday night on Fox's top-rated show.

Her Southern Oregon fans and millions more, will likely turn on the tube tonight to watch Kristy Lee Cook compete. Cook is a country music lover who was born in the Southern Oregon town of Selma, southwest of Grants Pass.

She is among 24 finalists on the show. The number will be narrowed over the coming weeks until a winner in the competition is named.

Now, fans will be able to download the performances they like on their iPod devices, under a deal between Fox and Apple. The performances will go on sale for 99 cents per song.
