AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - You may want to start planning an alternate route for the evening if your commute involves the I-27 to I-40 exit.
Starting Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., that exit will be closed as crews prepare to relocate the Ross Street exit.
Traffic on I-40 eastbound will be reduced to one lane.
The exit should be reopened by 6:00 a.m. on Thursday.
The new temporary exit to Ross will be just after the downtown interchange, and frontage traffic will be switched one lane over.
TxDOT wants to remind drives to be mindful of flaggers and police officers who will be helping direct traffic.
