CANYON, TX (KFDA) - West Texas A&M Volleyball kicked off their preseason practice schedule Monday afternoon at the First United Bank Center in Canyon. The Lady Buffs are coming off a trip to the South Central Region Finals and a 23-14 overall record last season.
The team conducted fitness tests in the morning and some routine drills in the afternoon for day 1. For the second year in a row, the team is young, but returning sophomore Chandler Vogel is confident in their ability to integrate the incoming players into their winning culture as they did last season.
"I think the returners that know how that went have started out with more of a sense of urgency this year," explains Vogel. "Knowing that a lot of us were younger last year, we know how to work the incoming and transfers in, and trust the process in that way."
WT will start of playing in the 2018 Lady Buff Classic tournament at home. Their first match will be August 24th against Adams State.
