GRADY, NM (KFDA) - A new wind power development in New Mexico will send power to California.

Pattern Development is breaking ground on Aug. 2 on a wind farm near Grady between Tucumcari and Clovis.

According to the developer, the facility could generate up to 221 megawatts of power or enough power for 90,000 homes, making it the second largest wind farm in the state.

The groundbreaking event will also feature a tour of the developer's nearby Broadview wind farm, which is the largest in New Mexico.
