The group St. Anthony's Legacy and Redevelopment announced today that previous owner Dennis Caldwell's Amarillo Landmark donated the 13 acre property on Monday.

Mary Emeny, the president of the non-profit, said the hospital has been an anchor of the community for a century, but there are new opportunities to come.

Many of the board members live on the north side, and the group plans to develop the property to benefit that community.

According to Baptist St. Anthony's, four nuns started St. Anthony's in 1901.

The last BSA employees left the building in 2004 for the current campus.
