Man charged for weed eater theft at Amarillo Walmart

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - A weed eater stolen from an Amarillo Walmart could lead to a state jail felony for the suspect accused of taking it.

Amarillo police arrested 39-year-old Adan Solis Jr. Monday after witnesses claimed they saw him stealing the lawn equipment from the Walmart at 5730 W. Amarillo Blvd.

Solis reportedly fled the scene in a green and a tan Chevrolet suburban. Shortly after the incident in question, police spotted the vehicle at the nearby United Supermarkets with the weed eater inside.

Solis was booked into the Potter County Jail for Theft under $2,500 with two or more convictions, a state jail felony. Solis has been convicted of six different thefts out of different jurisdictions.

The merchandise was returned to Walmart.
