FORT HOOD - Military officials are investigating the death of an Army soldier stationed at Fort Hood.

Staff Sgt. Devin Lee Schuette, of Clovis, died January 3. The 35-year-old was stationed at the Army base near Killeen, Texas, as an intelligence analyst.

Schuette deployed to Iraq three times as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Fort Hood officials say he was awarded five Army Commendation Medals, one Army Achievement Medal, five Army Good Conduct Medals, and a National Defense Service Medal among others.
