Hutchinson, Co. - A natural gas pipeline explosion in Hutchinson County caused a fire that is now extinguished.

Crews were called to County Road K between FM 1923 and County Road 4 at around 10:30 Monday morning.

Cari Richards with the Hutchinson County Emergency Services says several emergency departments were called to the scene to help put out the blaze.

"The City of Borger Fire Department, Hutchinson Fire Department, Hutchinson County Emergency Responders, TX-DOT, Phillips 66 Fire Department, The National Park Service" says Richards.

There were no injuries and no damage to the property from the fire, but one home was voluntarily evacuated.

The location of the explosion helped crews keep it contained.

"The explosion did occur in an area of the field that was well plowed. So we did have the perimeter around the field being monitored and there was never an uncontrolled fire" says Richards.

The pipeline is owned by Kinder-Morgan, a large energy infrastructure company.

The cause is still under investigation.
