CARSON COUNTY - A morning car fire near the Potter-Carson County line delayed traffic going westbound on I-40 for close to an hour.

The Potter County Sheriff's Office says the fire started at approximately 10:00 A.M. when the engine of a Nissan Altima caught fire and burned for 30 minutes.

The driver of the car noticed the engine smoking and pulled off to the shoulder of the highway prior to the blaze. She was uninjured.

The Potter County Fire Rescue and the Pantex Fire Department also responded to the scene to battle the fire.
