Candlelight prayer vigil to honor 5 area teenagers

Moore County, TX - Our area will soon pay tribute to the five teenagers who lost their lives in a weekend collision near Sunray.

A candelight prayer vigil has been set to honor the five victims and aims to give residents across the panhandle the opportunity to show their support for their families and friends.

It will be Thursday, March 14th in front of the Moore County Courthouse.

Those interested in attending, you're asked to begin gathering at 7:30 PM.

We've learned details about upcoming funeral arrangements through the High Plains Observer

Memorial services for 17 year old October "Tobie" Dawn Roys and her 15 year old sister Elizabeth Kay Roys are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 16th.

It will be at Temple Baptist Church and arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.

A memorial service for 16 year old Jacob Paul Stipe of Sunray is set for 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 14th at Sunray Baptist Church.

Arrangements are also entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.

The memorial services for 17 year old Derrek Lee Hager of Stratford and 17 year old Christopher Lee Moore of Dumas, are pending with Morrison Funeral Directors.

The parents of "Tobie" and Elizabeth Roys are asking for the community's help with funeral expenses.

If you want to make a monetary donation here are drop-off donation jars at two businesses in Dumas, The Red Lantern and Texas Inkslingers.

All donations collected will be transferred into the family's fund.
