E.Coli confirmed in Amarillo

AMARILLO, TEXAS - The health department is warning that e.coli has surfaced in Amarillo.

In the past few days there have been seven confirmed cases all in children. Right now they have not identified a common food source or location for the cluster, but six of the seven kids had come in contact with each other and several are related.

While they search for a cause, doctors say you need to be on the watch for common symptoms. Those include diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and it may cause bleeding from the nose and mouth. If you or your child shows any of them, please get to a doctor right away.

For more information about the outbreak, call the Amarillo Department of Public Health at 806-378-6300.
