Cold Case File: Bambi Lynn Dick
NewsChannel 10
AMARILLO, TX - The nearly three decades old murder case of a teenage girl remains unsolved.
Investigators tell NewsChannel 10, Bambi Lynn Dick, 17, was strangled to death and then dumped off the Dumas Highway just north of Amarillo in October of 1983.
Bambi Lynn was from Davenport, Iowa and it remains to be known why she was in the Amarillo area.
According to reports, about a week before the teenager's murder, she went to a concert in her hometown and never came home.
Detectives tell NewsChannel 10, one of the things that makes this murder difficult to solve is the time line surrounding Bambi Lynn's murder.
The teenager went unidentified to detectives until two years ago.
"We were able to tell her mom and dad where she was at. Not good enough to say who killed her, but at least we were able to tell them where she has been for the last 26 years." said Lt. Gary Trupe with Potter-Randall Special Crimes.
