Texas - DNA Testing has released hundreds of wrongfully convicted prisoners...

And if Governor Perry signs a new bill into law, DNA could also help exonerate men who have been paying child support for children who are not theirs.

The bill would release a man from child support payments if a child is proven, through DNA testing, to not be biologically his.

It's similar to the way people are exonerated from prison, but unlike released prisoners, there is no restitution or compensation for an exonerated parent.

Lawmakers say the measure would prevent continuing injustice in the state.

Both the House and Senate passed the bill unanimously and if the Governor signs it, the law would go into effect immediately.
