Tanner was born and raised in Roanoke, VA, growing up in the Appalachian mountains. The Weather Channel was a necessity in the Brammer household, where Tanner found his love for weather, more specifically winter weather. He decided from a young age that he wanted to be a broadcast meteorologist, seeing that he idolized the meteorologists at his local TV stations growing up. He attended school at Virginia Tech and graduated with a bachelor's degree in meteorology in May of 2022. He wanted to forecast somewhere that saw a high variety of weather, including winter weather, severe weather, and a wide range of temperature throughout the year. And when he was given the offer to be Newschannel 10's newest meteorologist, he accepted with utmost enthusiasm. When Tanner is not forecasting, he loves to keep up with his music, playing the saxophone and guitar, and also has a major love for Chicago sports.
