AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Holy Cross Catholic Academy will continue with its weekend event after the building was hit by a lightning strike Thursday night.

School officials reported to campus this morning and said the power is working, but computer servers are still down.

Stang Fest will happen as planned from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, May 21, according to a press release.

The event will host a car show, volleyball tournament, and vendors. Proceeds will go to Advo with Hope to Opportunities, an Amarillo nonprofit.

The update comes after Craig Logan, HCCA Head of the School, stated the lightning strike happened sometime around 8:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.

Logan said the lightning strike took out their server and caused other unknown damages.

The Amarillo Fire Department responded and said there was no fire danger to the building.

In person and virtual classes were canceled for Friday, May 19.
