Wanted man arrested after active police situation at Stuart Drive near Eastern Street

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - A man is in custody this morning after the Amarillo Police Department Critical Incident Response Team were working an active scene in east Amarillo.
About 7:13 a.m. today, police were sent to a home in the area of East 10th Avenue and Stuart Drive on a wanted person, 46-year-old Ruben Romero.
Police said Romero had warrants for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and bond surrender for possession of a controlled substance.
Officials were told he was armed with a firearm. He refused to leave the home.
The Critical Response Team and Bomb Squad were called to the area.
About 11:01 a.m., Romero left the home and was taken into custody.
He will be booked into the Potter County jail.
