UPDATE: Railroad tracks reopen today after Wednesday’s train derailment near Hereford

DEAF SMITH COUNTY, Texas (KFDA) - Officials said railroad tracks reopened this morning after a train derailment that happened early yesterday morning.
According to BNSF Railway, about 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, an eastbound freight train derailed 17 train cars northeast of Hereford.
The derailment happened in the area of Highway 60 and Road DD.
No injuries were reported.
BNSF teams responded to the scene of the derailment with heavy equipment to removed the derailed train cars and restore the track.
After safety inspections, the tracks were reopened at 11:00 a.m.
The cause of the derailment remains under investigation.
