Dalhart police looking for hit and run suspect resulting a teens death

DALHART, Texas (KFDA) - The Dalhart police are looking for a hit and run suspect that resulted with a 13-year-old woman’s death.

According to officials, at around 3:45 a.m. two 13-year-old females were in the roadway of E. 1st Street.

A red or maroon colored SUV possibly a Ford Expedition, Ford Explorer or Chevrolet Tahoe was travelling eastbound and struck both female victims.

One victim was hit and sustained minor injuries.

The second female was run over and dragged for more than 200 feet where she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle continued eastbound without stopping.

This case is being investigated as Manslaughter, a 2nd Degree Felony.
