AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Construction work on major roads in Amarillo will cause traffic delays for residents in some areas until winter.

The City of Amarillo’s Milling and Overlay Project will begin on Monday, and the work is expected to last through the fall.

Construction is expected to begin at Arden Road from S. Coulter Street to I-27.

Road work on S. Coulter Street from SW 45th Avenue to SW 34th Avenue will follow.

The final two projects are expected to take place on SW 26th Avenue from Paramount Boulevard to S. Georgia Street and S. Ross Street from I-40 to SE 3rd Avenue.

A map with additional information on the locations impacted by the project can be found here.

The city said residents in the impacted areas should be aware of flagmen directing traffic, posted signs and contractor personnel and equipment in the work zones.

Some may have to find alternate routes at various times throughout the projects due to temporary lane closures.
