Ogallala Commons taking reservations for Playa Field Day on conservation

PARMER COUNTY, Texas (KFDA) - Ogallala Commons is hosting Playa Field to share information on playa ecosystems and restoration efforts in the area.

The event will take place in Friona, where playa restoration efforts have been underway.

Attendees will learn about the restoration program known as the Texas Playa Conservation Initiative involving various groups such as Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Ogallala Commons and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Presenters will include officials with the TPWD, Pheasants Forever and a contractor transferring conservation plans to work on the ground.

The event is open to farmers, ranchers, agency personnel, educators and the public.

The field day will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Teresa’s Parish Hall on the north side of Friona Tuesday, April 20.
