AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Blizzard conditions are slowly coming to an end from west to east across the area with the winds coming down, and the snowfall is ending. The High Wind Warnings and Blizzard Warnings are being trimmed back slowly and will soon expire.

This system will slowly pass over the area from the west to the east as we go throughout the day, leaving the region around 6:00 p.m. when we will begin to see some clearing skies.

Until then, a big melt has already started for the western parts of the Panhandle, but we will have to worry about refreeze later this evening. The winds will stay brisk for the rest of the day and into the evening and overnight hours.

Main threats right now are mainly limited visibility, slick road conditions, along with widespread power outages.
