State health officials report 36 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths in Eastern New Mexico

CDC recommends masks in public settings

SANTA FE, N.M. (KFDA) - State health officials reported 36 new cases of COVID-19 in Eastern New Mexico counties.

The report shows 22 new cases in Curry County, one in Quay County, 12 in Roosevelt County and one in Union County.

The report shows the death of two Roosevelt County residents from the virus.

A man in his 40′s from Roosevelt County has died. He was hospitalized and had underlying conditions.

A man in his 60′s from Roosevelt County has died. He was hospitalized.

The number of deaths of New Mexico residents related to COVID-19 is now 2,794.

Including today’s newly reported cases, New Mexico has now had a total of 157,974 COVID-19 cases.

As of today, there are 715 individuals hospitalized in New Mexico for COVID-19.

80,580 people in New Mexico have recovered from the virus.

There are 6,616 positive COVID-19 cases across Eastern New Mexico:
