Players around the Texas Panhandle participate in National Signing Day

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Players around the Texas Panhandle are participating in National Signing Day.

The day started out with Tavian Combs, who missed his entire junior year due to injury. Combs signed with the University of New Mexico football team.

Some players also signed to play football at Texas Tech today. Star Tascosa Quarterback Joseph Plunk (preferred walk-on/Safety) and star defensive player LB Moore (scholarship/Linebacker) each signed with Tech. Josiah Emmitt signed to play for Ft. Hays St.

Finally, Amarillo High School hosted its signing day featuring an additional three players.

Evan Newkirk (Eastern New Mexico), David Pepper (Hardin-Simmons) and Cayden Johnson (Eastern New Mexcio) all signed late Thursday.

As students sign with colleges throughout the day, we’ll continue to update the story.
