AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Amarillo authorities released the name of a man who was arrested after about a two-hour long standoff last night at Tree Point Meadows Apartments.

About 7:00 p.m., officers with the Amarillo Police Department responded to a report of shots fired Sunday night at the apartments in the 4700 block of South Virginia Street.

According to APD Sgt. Carla Burr, when officers approached the door of the apartment where shots were heard, officers heard more gun shots.

Police called the Critical Incident Response Team in for assistance and evacuated surrounding apartments.

Authorities attempted to call the occupant of the apartment, 49-year-old Steven Young, on his cellphone and other means before getting his attention with a loud speaker.

Young came out of the apartment and officers detained him.

Young was booked into the Randall County Jail on a charge of deadly conduct.

No injuries were reported and authorities are still investigating the situation.
