‘Homeless Heroes’ bike run partnering with Veteran’s Resource Center

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - An Amarillo nonprofit is kicking off its fundraising efforts for the year to help veterans around the area.

The Homeless Heroes Cook-Off and Bike Run will be held in partnership with the Veterans Resource Center on May 18 and 19 at two locations in Amarillo.

The Bike Run will be on May 18 at the Pine Shed from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

May 19 will mark the Hamburger Cook-Off held at IDK Bar and Grill.

Cook teams will meet at the restaurant at 10:00 a.m.

The cook-off will be open to the public beginning at 12:00 p.m.

The event will also feature live music, a silent auction, a drawing and a raffle.

Those interested in cooking can enter by emailing Homeless Heroes.

All proceeds from both days will benefit the Veterans Resource Center.
