PAMPA, TX (KFDA) - Pampa ISD has issued a lock out at Pampa Junior High School due to a situation involving law enforcement presence in a nearby neighborhood.
Because of the proximity of a nearby neighborhood involved in a situation with law enforcement, Pampa ISD said it would be in the best interest to issue a lock out at the PJHS campus.
The incident happened in the Walnut Creek Estates neighborhood, just outside of Pampa.
Texas DPS and Ochiltree County Emergency Management are on the scene.
Texas DPS said they are assisting with a barricaded subject.
Pampa ISD said on Facebook that a lock out means that students will do business as usual inside, but no one will be allowed to enter the campus until police on the scene say there is no threat of danger.
The school said they are in constant contact with the police.
The school will have a controlled released of students. Bus riders will be released 10 minutes early and car riders will be dismissed at regular dismissal time.
