PAMPA, TX (KFDA) - The Gray County Sheriff’s Office has released more information on the incident that led to Pampa ISD issuing a lock out at Pampa Junior High School on Monday afternoon.
At 11:30 a.m. on Monday, the Gray County Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to an alleged suicidal subject in the Walnut Creek Addition located north of Pampa.
A court-ordered mental health evaluation had been issued at the request of a family member.
The sheriff’s office was told the subject was allegedly armed with various firearms. The subject refused to come outside and speak with deputies when asked.
Multiple agencies assisted at the scene including the Pampa Police Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Pampa EMS, Pampa Fire , Pampa EOC, Gray County Constable, Ochiltree County Sheriff’s Office.
Pampa ISD said on Facebook that a lock out means that students will do business as usual inside, but no one will be allowed to enter the campus until police on the scene say there is no threat of danger.
After 5 hours, the subject came out without incident or injury and was taken for a preliminary evaluation.
