Couple suspected of March kidnapping arrested after standoff in Randall County

RANDALL COUNTY, TX (KFDA) - A Pampa husband and wife are in the Randall County Detention Center after Randall County authorities said they kidnapped a woman back in March.

According to the Randall County Sheriff’s Office, Christopher and Tristin Givens are suspected of abducting a woman from a restaurant in Amarillo on March 16 of this year.

The victim said the couple, who she was acquainted with, drove her into Randall County and assaulted her while she was in their vehicle.

Eventually, the victim was able to escape the vehicle near South Osage Street, where a passerby called law enforcement.

Randall County authorities issued a warrant for the arrest of the couple.

On May 8, the sheriff’s office received a tip that the couple was at a home off of the westbound Claude Highway.

The county SWAT team responded to the house and commanded the suspects to exit the building.

Two other people, neither of whom were the suspect, exited the home, but the suspects initially resisted.

Eventually, they were arrested after a short standoff.

Both Christopher and Janae Givens were booked into the Randall County Jail on charges of kidnapping and sexual abuse, with Christopher receiving additional charges of assault on a family member and driving on an invalid license.
