AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - The Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum and The Citadelle Art Museum both received grants from Texas Women for the Arts program.
Texas Women of the Arts, a program of the Texas Cultural Trust, recognized 27 arts programs across the state to receive more than $247,000 in grants at their 14th Annual Meeting in Houston.
Among those selected was the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum in Canyon receiving $9,500 and the Citadelle Art Museum in Canadian receiving $30,000.
Texas Women for the Arts aims to awaken and nurture the artist in every Texas child. Members of the organization travel around the state each year for exclusive arts experiences and to grant funds to select arts education programs.
“Texas Women for the Arts was formed in 2005 to be a champion for the arts and arts education. Since then, the organization has awarded more than $2.4 million to more than 200 organizations across Texas,” said Heidi Marquez Smith, Executive Director of Texas Cultural Trust.
