APD asking for help identifying body found Thursday

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Amarillo police are asking for help identifying the body found yesterday near a City of Amarillo water reclamation facility.

At 3:03 p.m., APD officers were called to meet Potter County deputies at the 7100 block of Cliffside Road.

Officials said workers found a body in a drain at a City of Amarillo-owned sewage lift station.

The APD dive team responded to help recover the body.

According to APD, the deceased appears to be a white or Hispanic man in his 20s.

The man was between 200 to 250 pounds and was 6′1″.

He was wearing Nike Shox Gravity shoes in a size 12.

The cause of death is unknown, but Justice of the Peace Robert Taylor has ordered an autopsy.

APD’s Special Crimes Unit is investigating the incident.
