AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - The Texas Secretary of State’s office is once again sending an inspector to Potter County to monitor the happenings on Election Day.
The sending of an Election Day monitor was triggered by a petition from some of the candidates and attorneys, according to Potter Election Administrator MeLynn Huntley.
Huntley said the state will send monitors at anyone’s request and that they were present in Potter County for the last two elections giving perfect scores.
Randall Election Administrator Shannon Lackey said monitors have watched Randall County’s performance in the past as well.
Election Day monitors are volunteers trained by the state.
Voting is this Saturday, May 4.
